The best fish market in town, owned and operated by SD fishermen. Truly local offerings, sustainable, and unbelievably fresh. They can tell you which fishing company and boat brought in a specific fish. The "catch of the day" approach means you can occasionally find surprising and delicious varieties like Kingklip! None of that sad defrosted farmed Branzino from thousands of miles away.

Being from Iceland this place makes me VERY HAPPY. They take hand crafted care of FRESH local fish along with fantastic knowledge and customer service! I always say, if you don't like fish you've probably just been to the wrong places! Stop by here for a fantastic selection of seafood as well as house made salads and delicacies! If Tommy the fishmonger is around have a chat and let him fascinate you with his absolutely broad knowledge of fish!

They have a very good selection of seafood products. I used to think point Loma.Seafood was all they had until tunaville came in to play. Have to say byfar tuna ville hands down.

Visiting from out of town and saw this place located 5 min walk from my hotel along the harbor and went inside to check it out. Of course they sell all sorts of fresh, locally caught fish and seafood. But they also have a selection of freshly made cold, prepared seafood salads! I asked and was encouraged to try them. The owner even stopped over curious which I chose to purchase - the octopus salad and rockfish ceviche were my favorites. They were out of tortilla chips but had corn tortillas which was nice to have for gluten free folks who can’t eat the pita chips also available. I also learned they supply the fish for Mitch’s seafood and are affiliated with that restaurant, where I’d had a delicious meal the other day. A great find!

My wife and I were fortunate to attend "A Evening of Seafood with Tommy Gomes" at Solare restaurant in Liberty Station. Tommy's seafood shone brightly as prepared by Executive Chef Denice Grande. All the following fish are available at Tunaville Market within season. We started with a carpaccio of 32 day dry-aged Bigeye Tuna that Tommy carved on site in a demo of knife skill. I never heard of dry-aging fish but this was tasty, still moist and had a little of the dry-aged funk around the edges. Next up, the highlight for me, Sea-Cuterie, sausages in the style of Italian, Chorizo and Linguicia made from Thresher Shark. Again, unknown to me. If you didn't know it was shark you wouldn't guess it was any different. Amazing! A nice big Baja Shrimp scampi style, Risotto with Spiny Lobster and Vermillion Rockfish rounded out the menu.
There are other fish markets in San Diego but none of them have Tommy Gomes and his imaginative team creating itms like these in a sustainable manner. You gotta go!

Feel very grateful we found Tunaville as it is now our go-to spot for fresh seafood. First of all, their products are premium. Fantastic oysters, nice seafood salads, great specialty sauces/sides, and the fish is on another level. Second, the vibes. The person who I believe the owner is a great dude. Always giving out samples and last time comp’d us a fantastic dry aged tuna steak that blew us away. Appreciate their quality items with good feels.

This place is great. The owners and employees are all cool as hell and know their stuff. The prices are reasonable. And the fish is as fresh as it gets. Parking could be better, but it's never been a problem.

Best spot for the freshest seafood and the best ceviche you will ever eat! You may also see a 5th generation fisherman - the fishmonger Tommy Gomes!
