Decent variety of fish and other seafood (crabs, live lobsters, shrimp, octopus, and more). The price is definitely higher than most fish markets I’ve shopped at in other neighborhoods, but that’s likely due to there not being many other options nearby. Most of the fish aren’t super fresh but they also aren’t too old to use (cloudy eye test). Overall, I’ll definitely be back purely for the convenience of the location

It is that time of the year (Christmas) and its then that we get food from the markets rather than eating in a restaurant. We usually go to Chinatown in Manhattan along Canal street to buy all kinds of fresh seafood. This time around, we were hesitant to go there due to Covid (streets are always packed) so had to look for another seafood market in another area.
We saw Sea Breeze Fish Market about a week ago as we were walking on 9th avenue which is near Port Authority. Discovered the market then quite by accident as we were coming from a Walgreens after getting both a Covid booster and a flu shot. It looked like an interesting place and when we got home, looked at their large seafood selection.
We went back again on December 23rd bright and early and got there around 8am. Sea Breeze Fish Market opens at 730am and from what I have read, it's advisable to get seafood early in the day when it's the freshest and you have better choices.
As we entered the store, we immediately knew we were in one that sells seafood (aroma). There was a vast selection and it really looked like so many choices as the store was not that big. The claim selection was displayed on the front window, other choice selections on the side and in the freezer and the main selections of lobster tails, scallops, prawns, shrimp, squid and different types of fish were displayed on the main counter.
I guess it would be overwhelming to see all these different choices. Luckily, we had done our initial homework by viewing their website online and knowing ahead of time what out choices would be..
We selected the Lobster tails, the prawns, scallops, branzino, catfish, red snapper, tilapia and cuttlefish. Price wise it was more than what we would normally pay in Chinatown though it was for a holiday once a year meal so it was hopefully worth it. They also had a lot of salmon though decided to try it some other time as I normally have salmon (the smoked kind) more than a dozen times a year.
After making our payment, we waited a couple of minutes and then they handed us our order in a paper bag neatly packed in a plastic. Was heavy and luckily we came prepared with our recyclable bag and from there began our trek back home where we placed all the seafood in the freezer in preparation for our Christmas meal.
My wife prepared the one Lobster tail, about half a dozen prawns and scallops together with a steak and steamed vegetables. Rather than buying the dip from the store, she made her own similar concoction.
So, how were the initial dishes? Amazing and so fresh too. The Lobster tail was huge and we were able to share it. The scallops and prawns were delicious as well.
If you are ever in this neighborhood, early of course, make sure you go to this place for your fill of fresh seafood. Would definitely recommend.

Nice neighborhood seafood market that has a good selection of fresh and packed seafoods. The fish selection is good and there is a cooked section in the back.

After getting rotten fish over and over from ordering through that “popular app” and not being refunded I searched long and hard for a place to buy fresh fish. I found this place online and went in person. I chose my fish and they cleaned them and I paid and tipped generously. I really wanted to check the fish before leaving but felt bad doing it in their presence so I didn’t. When I got home and checked the weight was right but some of the fish were not what we chose before they went to the back to clean them. For my next order I decided to buy online as it was not convenient to go in person. The fish cost over $100.00. As soon as it was delivered and I opened the bag my daughter gagged. The fish was so rotten it was shocking. I did not ask for a refund. I didn’t have the energy to go through all that. There’s one place where you are guaranteed fresh fish but the snappers are $17.99/lb and that’s too much for me. I have given up on trying to get fresh affordable snappers in Manhattan

New Yorkでは数少ないFish Marketの一つで重宝しています。種類が豊富な上に、調理が面倒な魚に関しては購入時にお願いすると三枚におろしたり、内臓を取ってくれたりと丁寧な対応をしてくれます。また、タイミングによっては刺身にできるほど鮮度がよいものもあり、Sashimi Gradeの魚が欲しいと伝えると魚の鮮度を見極めながら、どれがいけるかも教えてくれます。クレジットカードでの支払いも可能なのがありがたい。

A big fan of this very conveniently located fish market right behind Port Authority Terminal. Easy to pick up some fish for dinner on the way home after work. The guys who work here are also quite friendly.
