This is an amazing little store in Portsmouth. It is fully stocked with fresh and frozen seafood. We recently visited to purchase sushi-grade fish and were impressed with the quality of the ahi tuna. In addition to seafood, they have a variety of fresh produce, ice cream, and craft beer. We will revisit to try out their lobster roll and shop some more.

The fish market blends beautifully into the atmosphere of the city. I rushed into Portsmouth on some urgent business and before I knew it, it was lunchtime and I was hungry. I discovered this shop while walking around the area. The inside of the shop was clean and there were fresh seafood on display. Among the many options, the one that caught my eye was the lobster roll. The fresh seasoning went really well with the generous amount of lobster meat and it was delicious. When it gets warmer, I'd like to buy a lobster roll here again and eat it while looking at the ocean.

Stopped here on the way back to Pennsylvania yesterday. Very nice, clean, well-run shop. The guy who waited on me was super helpful. Helped me make some great selections, wrapped everything up nice and neat, and filled my cooler with ice for the trip home. First Class!!

This is the best lobster roll I’ve ever had, and it consistently has been for the last five years or so. It’s not on a split top bun. Which makes it so much better. The bun is perfectly toasted with butter and the lobster is always super tender.
That’s really the most important thing to know about this place. It worth a detour for the lobster roll anytime you’re close by.
Nothing here is cheap, but everything seems to be pretty high quality.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this place. We picked up two rolls (crab for him and lobster for me) and took them to Prescott Park nearby. The lobster and crab both came on buttered, round rolls and the meat for both was cooked perfectly! Tender and juicy, just the right amount of seasoning. Would highly recommend this place- especially if you are trying to get a lobster roll in the winter like we were!

My wife and I stopped off in Portsmouth on our New England round trip. We ended up here in search of a good lobster roll. In addition to the lobster roll, we also had a crab roll. Both were generously filled and very tasty. We particularly enjoyed the combination with a hamburger roll. Both remained our undisputed number 1 until the end.

This is a *proper* fish market. Called by for lunch as we were passing through the area. I don’t think I’ve ever had a crab sandwich with as much crab & the shrimp sandwich was just as loaded. So fresh too. Great service, with the sandwiches made to order.

After being generally disappointed with Lobster Rolls at both high end restaurants and seafood stands, someone recommended Sanders.
We got a Lobster roll, a crab roll and maple smoked salmon.
All three were to die for but the salmon is the standout, worth dying twice....
The staff are as friendly as they come.
