It's a plain old diner. The staff was friendly and efficient; the food was out quicker than our favorite Spanish restaurant at home. We barely got our order in, and it was in front of us. The gator tail meal was delicious and tender, as described. The side salad was huge, but the clam chowder was thin, which was not what I expected—there were plenty of clams, but it was just not our typical. Prices were reasonable for the food portion and quality. If you are in the area, it has good portions and is friendly. The dining area is dated, and the restrooms could use an updo.

Came in and I now forget the younger girl with curly hair name she was our waitress and was great. She was tentative and kept up with us. The food was all over the place. The chicken tenders were bland and close to being overcooked but the crab cakes were good. We got crab legs to share and those were good and good crack not soggy and soft. My husband got catfish and he said it was good. The sides were loaded with flavor though. The gator tail app was good and tender.

Food was awful. Sea Food and no Melted. butter? They use melted margarine which is one molecule away from plastic. Fried scallops were actually breaded scallops that were baked. My steak was drowned in Worcestershire sauce. The lobster was as good as it could be without melted butter. The green beans taste like they came out if I can with smoked flavoring. Rice was like out of a box. But on a lighter note the cheese grits were pretty good and the hush puppies were decent.

For many years now I have been taking my Mom to Sam's St Johns Seafood for All You Can Eat crab legs for her birthday. The location near The Villages, Florida closed recently so luckily there was another location about 45 minutes further north. So expectations were high that we would have a good experience.

They offer this AYCE special on Mondays. We arrived at 2pm and were excited to see the AYCE Crab Legs sign out front, then we found the restaurant well lit, clean and had only a few tables occupied. Our waitress, her name was Beth, arrived promptly to get our drink orders. Now just to let you know my Mom and I are serious crab leg eaters...lol. I told Beth that there was a good tip in it for her if she could keep up with us by keeping our plates full of refills.

The food arrived looked amazing and the crab legs were large, hot and not soggy...perfectly cooked, this was the same for every refill as well. We just love when you snap the main part of the leg and the meat just slides out in one piece. As we kept eating legs we saw many other tables come and go...lol. Beth kept our plates and our drinks full and our butter fresh. Two and a half hours later we finally admitted defeat and asked for our check. Needless to say Beth earned her large tip as promised.

Sam's has many other delicious seafood offerings and I highly recommend this restaurant to all seafood lovers. You won't be disappointed.

While visiting a relative in the area, she advised that this is a good dining option. We ordered fried green tomatoes (very good),clams, flounder and shrimp, baked potatoes and a garden salad. The seafood items were prepared well. The potatoes were hard and we advised the server and she exchanged for fresh ones which were delicious! Overall the food was moderately priced and in my opinion could have been hotter. I prefer my cooked items very hot. The portion sizes were fairly large so I didn’t have room for dessert 🥹; however, the restaurant seemed to have a good selection of desserts as well, Including a very rich looking chocolate cake. Overall I would give it a go. Our server was very attentive.

Great food. Diner like atmosphere. Server and hostess aren’t the friendliest of people. But still a good place for some great seafood. The buffalo Fried Shrimp was awesome! Nice and saucy!! I do recommend for great food!!
