Mongers is a fantastic spot for seafood lovers! The restaurant itself was beautiful. The vibes were chill and upscale, making it a perfect place for a weekday lunch. While it’s a bit on the pricier side, the quality of the food makes it well worth it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an elevated seafood meal.

We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary at Mongers last night. We tried six different items on the menu. All were perfectly cooked, tasted exquisite, and were beautifully presented.

We tried both of the soups on the menu. Of the two, we liked the Seafood Chowder best. The other choice was a Crab and Shrimp Gumbo. Generous different kinds of seafood in each dish.

We also had the Blue Crab Cake and Burrata dishes. The latter did not have tomatoes with the cheese, which it is traditionally paired with, instead arugula and a fig marmalade accompanied it. The crab cake was stuffed with crab and very little filler (which is the mark of a good cake). Served with a smoked tomato aioli.

Finally, we sampled the daily crudo (tuna) and daily ceviche (scallops). They were the stars of the meal. Both so delicate and presented wonderfully, but also they tasted the best.

Service was excellent, attentive but not overwhelming. Paired dinner with a French Sauvignon Blanc. We were treated to dessert to celebrate. A nice touch to an amazing meal. Thank you!

My husband loves coming here for lunch because of the fish sandwich. It’s reminiscent of something we’d get in Florida. It’s $24 with a good portion of grouper plus fries. It’s always just done so well!

I usually get the gulf red snapper and it’s pretty good too. Not the best, but for a quick lunch and only for $25 it’s a great deal. I feel like if I got the same plate any where else in Austin it’d be $35+.

Quality of food is great too. The atmosphere is beachy, but tasteful and since they moved here from the east side, it’s also a larger space that accommodates more.

Beautiful atmosphere, definitely a place you’d want to dress up a little bit for. Dimly lit fine dining with a coastal theme. The food was exceptionally well done. Very eclectic ideas that only a chef would come up with. Lots of daily specials, as well deserts. The Fuji apples on my scallops were awesome! Service was also top notch. Would definitely recommend the place for a good first impression on a date!

Great seafood restaurant in Hyde Park. The service was spectacular and our waiter was happy to offer recommendations for our meal. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted and the flavors and preparations were exactly to my liking. We loved everything we tried and I will definitely be returning for more!
