What a great and unique experience! While it represents a Dune Shack in size and decor, it has all the needed amenities, especially the great outdoor shower. Remote, quiet, on the beach, romantic with everything you will need for the week. Leo, the caretaker was great in making sure everything was ready before we arrived and that was it for the week. Unless you wandered out, there wasn't a soul in sight. A true bucket list item!

I found this wonderful place about 3 years ago. I have been coming to the Cape all my life. We decided to start a new tradition and come for Christmas. We stayed at The Stable the first time. It was so quiet and cozy. We fell in love! Then we decided to try the Beach Cottage. Now we come in May/June as well as Christmas! It is so perfect and we really get to relax and reconnect. When you come in, it is magical! It is a beautiful, roomy cottage with a breathtaking view of the bay and Provincetown. Antiques, high ceilings and both old and new comfortable pieces that just make you feel at home! It is well kept, Penny and Edward do a fabulous job! Annette is here anytime you need her. So is Edward. Peter is a good, kind man. (the owner) I can not say enough about Lis Sur Mer. ||Barb and Denn

I stayed in “The Shack” mid-June 2022 and had the most wonderful time!! The cottage had everything that I needed and they were able to accommodate my little beagle and even had a dog bed to welcome her. The beach was not crowded and the natural surroundings provided tranquility and privacy. I will return!

The Artist's Shack at Lis Sur Mer was the perfect place to celebrate our honeymoon. It was cozy and rustic but had all the amenities you need, including excellent wifi and a fully functioning kitchen. The outdoor shower was private and overlooked the bay through the brush. It was wonderful being surrounded by nature with visits from a variety of birds including cardinals and hummingbirds, chipmunks, squirrels, and while at the bay--seals! There was a house being built next door (through the woods a bit) so there was a little construction noise but nothing too bad and it looks like they were almost finished. I definitely recommend visiting the Artist's Shack for a lovely retreat. I hope to be back.

After a very difficult time in life, I decided that I needed to get away from my comfortable distractions for a bit. Emails, texts, work, people, everything. This my review of the experience, and the place that made it possible. ||||The owner accommodated me at the last minute, and he was super friendly about it! I showed up a few days later, and I immediately fell in love. It was better than I ever imagined, even based off the pictures and description. The Shack is so cozy and warm. I walked in and felt like I was at home. The bed was already made with a down comforter on top, along with a fresh set of towels and washcloths. I'd been worried about the heat in the middle of November, but they already had the heater running and it was the perfect temperature inside. It's one of those places where you can tell they've thought of everything before you even arrive.||||Noticing the pink sky from the window (check out my picture for this view!), I quickly ran outside and was so happy to discover that I was mere steps away from the ocean. To the right, there's this clearing with a pair of adirondack chairs looking over the entire Cape bay and Provincetown. To the left, there's steps that take you down to a wonderful beach (where I would spend most of my days walking).||||The next few days were bliss. Once my mind finally got out of distraction mode, everything slowed down. I woke up in the morning and go for long sunrise walks on the beach. I returned to The Shack and read my favorite books. I cooked breakfast, then made my way back outside and walked along the beach in both directions. If you're a beach walker, this is the place for you. No recliners and crowds and garbage. Just pure natural beauty for miles upon miles upon miles. The few people I did run into were incredibly nice, and usually had a cute dog to play with :)||||Every evening, I would walk down to the beach with some crackers or a glass of wine and watch the sunset. The views were out of this world. I've attached some pictures, but they don't even do it justice. Since North Truro looks over both the East and West, you get pretty much every beautiful part of a sunset and sunrise. On the last night, the water was so calm it actually looked like a lake!||||Walking back up to the soft glowing lights of The Shack was always a perfect end to the night. Cozying up at night with my journal and listening to the tide go in and out. I could not have been happier. This place allowed me to finally get in touch with a part of myself that I'd really been struggling with. Without the comfortable distractions, I found my answers.||||I know I'll be back again soon. I'd recommend The Shack to any solo adventurer looking for a quiet chance to slow down. You will not find a more authentic & beautiful spot for it.

We stayed there about a year ago; still dreaming of coming back. One day! We stayed in the Shack, which was small, but perfect for two. Had a romantic week, right on the bay, private, quiet, perfect place to recharge from NYC.

I stayed in the Shack for four days. If life hadn't called me from it, I'd wish to stay four hundred more. To be at Lis Sur Mer is to be with the wind and the sea and one's thoughts and, most important, nothing else.
