I was so disappointment in our experience at La Norma last night. We had friends from out of town visiting and we wanted to take them to a local restaurant on LBK, and since it was cold and windy out - we wanted an indoor table. So I booked a table on-line for last night at 7 pm indoors.

We got to the restaurant right at 7:00 pm and the hostess told us that they didn't have any indoor tables available, although I saw two empty tables for 4 inside. I told the hostess we had booked on-line and specifically requested an indoor table at 7:00 pm and it was confirmed via email. She said sorry, but I have other guests coming who want an indoor table. I proceeded to pull up the confirmation email with the indoor table confirmed, and as she saw I was not going to back down, she acquiesced
and gave us the table.

After a bad taste in my mouth, not feeling very welcomed, we ordered. The food is usually very good. However, this must have been an off night. The bread came to the table half baked, it was doughy inside. Then my veal dish was way too salty and the meat was chewy.

To add insult to injury, my friend ordered a pizza, and it came to the table late, not with the rest of the entrees, we had almost finished our meals and finally got the pizza. We had asked for it several times and the waiter simply said that they were backed up with pizza orders. Don't understand that as we gave them our order all together. We believe the waiter didn't put it in on time or didn't tell who was making the pizza our timing with the other orders.

We finally got an apology and the waiter said come back, we will do better next time.

Honestly, it will be a long time before we come back to La Norma.

My wife and I visited this charming Italian restaurant on longboat key. Our server was very friendly and was able to make great recommendations on wine. We enjoyed veal outside on the patio. I highly recommend checking out this lovely spot.

Delicious Pizza and Salad. We needed a last minute dinner and this did not disappoint! We ordered online for pick up. And when Dad forgot to pick up half the order we received a quick call from the friendly staff letting us know half of our order wasn’t picked up! A lot of other places wouldn’t have bothered to call. Thank you for saving dinner, we will be back.

We had an incredible experience at this restaurant last night! Incredible food, our server Juan was so nice and made the evening very special. We had the burrata appetizer, the lamb ravioli and a pizza. Wine was excellent as well as everything else. Juan made us great recommendations. Highly recommend!!

Pizza is fabulous. We got 2 pizzas and a Stromboli for take out. We were pleasantly surprised. We came here on the referral from two different people. We didn’t have high hopes based upon other local pizzas. This pizza is very very good. Perfectly cooked. Crust is delicious. Sauce is delicious. Cheese has a very good flavor and was not overpowering. Not too many toppings. We highly recommend this place for pizza. We look forward to going back to try some other Italian dishes as well but it’ll be hard not to get the pizza again! 8.4 on the Portnoy scale 🤙🏻. If you know you know.

Tonight was such a disappointment dining in at La Norma. This is my 5th time going there and this didn't seem like the same restaurant. My husband and I waited 20 minutes for the bread to be put on the table then 40 minutes for our salad and another 30 minutes for our entrees!! We asked the waiter when the food would be coming out and he said in just a few minutes (which were 30)! I also saw people waiting for their take out orders for quite a long time!! They had 3 waiters buzzing around, but I assume they are short kitchen staff. Will not be going back!!

Today I had a pleasure to have a dinner in this stunning restaurant. I immpressed how beautiful atmosphere was there and food was unreal delicious. I’ve had a couple special positions and I have no words to describe these amazing dishes. Salad was tasty and ravioli with ricotta and pumpkin cream literally stole my heart. Highly recommend this restaurant to visit. Server Paula was very nice and pleased. My complements to the shef!
