Purcahsed mussels , scallops and lobster for our NYE meal.

More than 1/2 the mussels didn’t open even after extra steaming and those that did had a very small center that was torn and inedible. The lobster was like eating rubber and not good tasting at all. Scallops were fine. Will not be returning.. disappointed that a northeast seafood market lacks quality. And very pricey .

If I could give cero stars to this bussiness I would do it, the last friday I bought raw medium shrimp with them, I cooked it yesterday and that gave food poison, when I just finished to clean it I could notice a chemical smell coming from the shrimp and then I cleaned them again it wasn't too smelly to me and then I cooked it a couple hours later and everything looked good to the time to eat it the smell was all in the food (Alfredo pasta) I tought that my pot had the smell I ate just 3 shrimp enough mess my stomach with all the food poison symptoms , I was scared about it because I felt so bad, then when I saw information about food poison by shrymp I saw all the symptoms were the same and the chemical smell is the smell when shrimp is not good, I called this morning and the lady manager was explaining me the way to cook Alfredo pasta with shrimp, is not my firts time cooking and eating that , she wanted that I drive 1 hour 20 minutes from home to show her the shrimp, at that point I was so upset with her answer because if you drive to go there and return shrimp it going to cost you more money in gasoline than the money that I paid for that , (no having any sense) I explained her that they mess my whole day today because I was so dehidrated, take care with this place please if you notice a chemical smell in their sea food don't eat it, seems like their sea food is not fresh like it seems, first and last time buying something with this people

We would regularly buy jumbo lump crab meat here at $55/lb. my family was ok with this spending the extra cash for USA blue crab. And until today had gotten a great product. Mostly all lump. Today we purchased a pound of “jumbo lump crab meat” at $60/lb. Obviously, they raised the price. Again, we were fine with the higher price assuming our purchase would be of the same quality. It was/is NOT. We opened the container of “jumbo lump” and what is pictured is what we got. Not jumbo lump. We contacted the store to see how we could correct the situation and did not receive good customer service at all. The woman told us what we typically purchase is “jumbo meat from Mexico”. Not at all what the packages state. The package says USA. She was completely unwilling to explain why we pay extra for packaged crab meat we expect is from the US EAST COAST as stated. She repeatedly told us it was from Mexico. We have no problem paying for a quality product from the US but feel this company played a “bait and switch” and did nothing to fix it when addressed. Not a trustworthy company and even more than lacking customer service. Poor customer service and a disgrace to Reading Terminal Market.

Idk what's up w/ some of these reviews (seems fishy). I came with my Mom from her doctors because she HAD to get fish here, oxygen tank and all. We ordered silver trout, porgy, wild organic salmon, flounder and cod. Everything was cleaned and fileted as requested. The woman who took our order was great at keeping up with my Mom who was a little all over the place, acting like a kid in a candy shop. The guys packed our fish with ice and doubled checked our order to make sure we got everything we ordered. You're able to watch the guys cut and clean the fish and they are very skilled and maintain great hygiene habits for the 20+ minutes I watched. Once we got home (45+min), fish was all fresh and smelled delish, like fish is supposed to smell. We fried up the trout and porgy and to our delight, it was excellent 👌 Looking forward to cod cakes tonight 🤤 Def recommend and will continue to remain loyal customers as we have been for the past 15yrs.

On multiple occasions they sold me funky and questionable fish. I always bring a cooler with plenty of freezer blocks in it. There is no way it’s a time of transport issue. I stopped shopping there after a while because for those prices I shouldn’t have to wonder. For the record, I am a personal chef with 30 years of experience in the business.

This is my 2nd visit, after 5 pm, and they all turn their backs to customers. And act like they do not hear you asking questions about a purchase. That is very unprofessional. That is not business and should change before this owner loses long time customers. Especially since there is another seafood market not too far away and never does that.
