Laura who is in charge of the alcohol department is absolutely amazing!! I try and get here as often as I can for the Friday night tastings because she has a wealth of information about each product and I always learn so much and have so much fun! She’s great at providing recommendations and is so knowledgeable about the industry and inventory. She also just couldn’t be a nicer more approachable person! Would strongly recommend stopping in here for yourself or for a gift!

I can’t say enough good things about Golden Goose Market! My car was unfortunately towed near their store, and the staff went above and beyond to help me out. Not only were they kind and understanding, but Jose even drove me to pick up my car—talk about incredible customer service! I also had the chance to speak with the owner, and it’s clear that this place is built on both quality and kindness. A huge thank you to the team for their generosity and care. If you’re looking for a business that truly values its customers, Golden Goose Market is it!

Overpriced Muffin
Was I charged $7.99 for Stone N Skillet English Muff? That only comes 4ps! When I returned to my hotel, I was shocked at that receipt. I didn't have time to return it. I know it's a tourist area, but I thought it was overpriced! Btw, there was no price tag on the shelf.
On the plus side, the store is well stocked and offers many great options for freshly made food. The Italian hot sausage was amazingly flavorful. I'd definitely go back to fresh food at Deli, but I won't buy muffins!

Unfortunately, tonight, I had an underwhelming experience as a customer at Golden Goose Market. While I do not know the owner's name, I have become a regular at this local grocery and was disappointed in the customer service of an individual named Claudia.  While waiting in line to pay for my purchased items, I noticed a young cashier speaking strangely to a customer while checking them out.  Initially, it was unclear what seemed to be happening, but eventually, I ascertained that this customer misplaced her purse and happened to leave it behind at Golden Goose Market.  Instead of demonstrating empathy for this polite customer, the young woman seemed to try to intimidate this customer, saying things such as "I can't believe you left your bag here; it has everything in it, license - everything."  I was startled not only by her tone of voice but the words she chose as well.  After she gave the purse to the young woman, she continued bullying this passive customer (who had already paid for her groceries by the way), repeating the exact bullying phrases.  She went as far as to hold up the line to continue with this seemingly inane conversation that seemed dangerous for some unknown reason.  The cashier then turned to another guest and spoke in Spanish while completely ignoring her cashier duties for about 7 minutes while only one cashier was tending to customers.  The woman who mistakenly left her bag at this location seemed to be unflustered and profusely thanked this rude cashier, even offering her a cash tip.  I can honestly say I was taken aback by the scene and the fact that there wasn't any manager on duty who might.....intervene and manage their staff to perform more professionally.  Overall, I'm not sure what's going on at this location. Golden Goose has always been a family-run North End staple, and one could expect a consistent welcoming experience for all walks of life.  I have seen a big downturn in the overall service at Golden Goose recently, and I'm not quite sure why. There's no reason to try to intimidate guests at the grocery store, certainly not when they leave something as important as a purse behind.  I hope the owner can adjust staffing and restore the prior service standards of my favorite local grocery.

Great neighborhood grocery store. Walking distance from our hotel. It had everything we needed. Reasonable selection of spirits. Prices are what you’d expect for the convenience.
