This is the best fish store! When you walk in and it does not have a fish odor you know it is five star!
I can’t rave about this place enough! The owner is such a nice guy! He is very passionate about his business! Everything is so fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!

So happy this market has come to town! I purchased the freshest fluke yesterday for ceviche and it was divine!! Also purchased amazing sweet oysters and two beautiful filets of cod. It was all so fresh and delicious. The service was great, I asked what fish they recommended for homemade ceviche and apparently the fluke was just taken off the boat that morning. I love that the fish is locally sourced and sustainable! Will definitely continue to shop here for my fish. Thank you!!

I have to rave about Fratelli Freschi Fish shop in Montclair, NJ! From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by the delightful, fresh scent of quality seafood—this place knows what it’s doing. After exploring other fish markets in the area, I can confidently say this is the first one that has truly impressed me.
Do not be intimidate if you are out of your depth with seafood. The staff here are not only friendly but incredibly knowledgeable about their offerings. I picked up some $1.50 Virginia oysters for grilling, and they were absolutely perfect! I also got a beautiful piece of snapper that I used to make a rosemary mayo fish sandwich, and it was divine. If you’re unsure of what to choose, just get the salmon; it’s fantastic! But don’t hesitate to ask for recommendations—they have a wealth of options that can take your seafood experience to a whole new level.
If you’re not shopping here for your fish and seafood, you’re really missing out on something special. This shop is a gem, and I can’t wait to return for more delicious finds!

I’ve had a chance to get to know the Freschi family personally over the years. And, it’s been incredible to see how they’ve grown and given back to the community. This marketplace is such an incredible contribution to such a special place and founded by some of the absolute best people I know on the planet. I just learned about it and our family will be driving up from Maryland to visit this July. It’s 235 miles and 4.5 hours and worth every mile. Our oldest son loves seafood and he’s going to have a blast picking out what he eats. Can’t wait!
