We previously had Pete’s Fish and Chip’s before they added the Philly cheesesteak part. We used to really enjoy it. When we got our food today after picking up to go, we were highly disappointed. This is 2 large fish plates and a fish a shrimp plate for $60.00 total. It is not the same fish or same size it used to be. I used to recommend this place for their fish and chips. Now, please don’t waste your time or money on the fish. Highly disappointed and let down.

Excellent cheesesteak. Went on Thursday and got $12.99 special that also includes fries. They didn’t mention that CheeseWiz is extra nor did they mention the price of the drinks. The cheesesteak was great and I look forward to trying their fish and chips. I also noticed that their fries were perfect and not the least bit greasy.

Famous Philly Cheese Steak and Pete’s Fish 11-2-24
Arrived at the Cape Corral location Saturday around 1pm. They were not busy as only one table was filled. They took our order fast at the counter. One this you must be aware of is if you use a credit card, they charge an extra 4%. This place is not big, they do have a few tables. We went to sit and two of the tables were dirty from the previous people. My Cheesesteak and my wife’s Fish Sandwich was delivered to our table in a reasonable amount of time. My Cheesesteak was hot and very good. I added Onions and Marinara Sauce, but the bread was amazing. They were a little skimpy on the Marinara Sauce on my Cheesesteak, they could have put more on as the bread was a little dry. My wife’s Fish was hot and very tasty, and she loved it. The Coleslaw that came with her Sandwich was warm not cold and it needs some improvement. Both sandwiches were good, but the star of the show was the Cheesesteak for sure. I give them 3 out of 5 stars.

I don't know now a days if you people will eat shoe leather and be happy bc I read the reviews for this place FIRST and then went in to try it. 😩 Trash. ....
Straight to the trash both of the sandwiches I tried (steak and chicken philly) went. Look at the pictures, the chicken was either soo old or was bad or soo over cooked it was shoe leather.🤢
Mushrooms were edible.
And to top it off the people behind the counter have a SOAP TV SHOW on soo loud and 1000 fans going you can't even carry on a conversation.
Awful food and even worse service expecting a tip but don't even check on you while you are there eating. I will never return

Food was good. Staff were very friendly as well. I’m a born and raised Philadelphian so when I see the Philly named used for a cheesesteak, I need to check it out.

The rolls were correct. Amarosos rolls are the only rolls for a proper cheesesteak. This places has the right ones.

Portion was adequate between roll size and amount of meet, cheese and onions on it. Meat used was clearly a minute steak style of beef. This usually results in a very greasy sandwich which is what this was. I didn’t love it, but I did like it. Meat also could use some seasoning.

Cheese choices were between American, Provolone or that liquid golden nectar, cheese wiz. I chose the wiz, as I always do. It was ok. I think the grease from the meat really hurt the overall experience of the sandwich.

Price was what is expected these days; overpriced. Lowering the cost by $2 would make an exponential difference in the value of the meal.

My wife loved it, but I’m a little harder to please. I’m kind of a cheesesteak snob. She gives it 5 out of 5, but I’m giving it a soft 4. It’s borderline between great and just ok. Straddling that line between.

Less grease, higher quality meat and like I said before, $1-$2 cheaper would make a world of difference.

The gentleman that answered the phone was very friendly and answered questions about their menu.
I wasn’t sure about the fish and chips / Philly cheese steak combo for a restaurant. Lol. But I was optimistic!

Optimism paid off. We got the fish and chips and shrimp and chips.
Both were very enjoyable! 🙂

Next time we’ll need to try the Philly cheesesteak and see how that stacks up against the original… to be continued.

I'm new to the area and A good friend of mine referred me to this place I was talking about how we're in Florida and there's hardly any fish and chip places around here or any seafood for that matter which is pretty weird to me it's crazy so I have been wanting to try this place for a while so finally I called and asked if they could take my order on the phone because my phone was messed up and wouldn't let me do an online order which they agreed and I greatly appreciate. The young lady was very kind, told me my food would be ready within 10 minutes I was really close so I got there within 10 minutes and didn't have to wait very long even though it was Rush hour 5:00 p.m. paid for my food didn't have to wait long at all I was in and out got home my food was still hot fish and shrimp are very good they're nice and moist and cooked just perfect golden brown just like I like it french fries I'm very particular on and they actually have pretty good french fries so overall my experience was pretty good thank you guys and I will refer my friends to you. I appreciate you small family owned businesses. It's what makes Cape Coral feel like home away from home

A hole in the wall that you don’t want to miss! They had a 2 for $22 Tuesday deal, which included two Philly cheesesteaks with onions and two sides of fries.
Fries were freshy fresh and so was the sandwich. Perfect lunch or dinner spot for a quick bite.
I believe its owner operated - the lady taking our order was the absolute sweetest.
You won’t be disappointed.
