Some of the most delicious, perfectly-fried oysters and catfish I've ever tasted! I simply can't express how fresh and tasty the food was here! And the people! ...some of the friendliest folk ever! We told Barb we were looking for firewood and they went out of their way to offer help. We'll definitely make a point to come back here to eat, next time we're camping in the area!

Driving back from the coast, stopped in on a rainy day for brunch. I ended up getting the BEST key lime pie I think I've ever tried, and I've been to key west! We also ordered a double bacon burger with loaded fries, the oyster soup (just YUM, hit the spot), grilled cheese sandwich and cheesy grits. Everything was great, relatively affordable and clearly made fresh! I will be stopping through here every time I head down to the coast from now on!

Went there today with a friend of ours. The first thing I should have noticed was the sign on the front door needing a line cook. Our friend had the buffet. We ordered the seafood platter for two with grouper, flounder and crab cakes. The choices were fried, grilled or blackened. We chose grilled.
While the fried items on the buffet were marvelous and perfectly seasoned and cooked, we waited until our friend had started on his second plate before our entrée arrived. Everything on the platter was either totally black or slathered in a greasy hue of gray. The crab cakes were like two black shingles with a small smear of something pink between them. Totally inedible. The flounder was also black on both sides with bones and dorsal fin still intact. It actually looked more like a sheepshead. The shrimp, bay scallops, oysters, grouper and crab claws were only distinguishable by the shape, claw or tail. We sent the flounder back and described to the waitress just what a ‘grilled’ piece of fish should look like (i.e.: white flesh with grill marks.) If you don’t have a grill, then don’t offer it.
After another half an hour our replacement flounder arrived. Any better you might ask? NOPE! Apparently the cook was very good at frying foods, but was totally lost when it came to grilling. The items appeared to have to been thrown onto a greasy, DIRTY, solid slab griddle such as what you’d use to cook eggs or hamburgers in a fast food outlet. The crab cake could only have reached their burned consistency by being pressed onto the griddle with either a spatula or a weight.
In all, our three meals with tip reached over $68 and most of it was taken home to give to our friend’s dog. I did enjoy the fried hushpuppies, fried green tomatoes and fried corn nuggets. Again, that fry cook knows their business. (The fried shrimp our friend had were delicious!)
I wish this business all the luck in finding a good cook for the non-fried menu items. Sometimes you have to spend a little more to get the best results but I understand that could be a daunting task given your location. I could see that this restaurant has a very lively and thriving Sunday buffet business, but if you go right now I’d suggest you keep to the buffet.

If I could give 0 stars I would. 10 wait for the server to take our drink order, then never came back again until the food arrived. Food was terrible. Raw hush puppies, burnt okra and no regret on the part of the staff for terrible service. WILL NOT GO BACK.

Food was excellent. Cook was excellent. Waiting staff was very bad. Took our order then 2 other groups came in. Took their order and we got our food last. Said our ticket got skipped over then sat down with lunch customers and never refilled or waited our table again.

Worth the drive to the middle of nowhere. They pile it on too. Every time I go I have the most trouble deciding what to get. It's all so good. Usually wind up with flounder, shrimp, and scallop 3 way

We just loved the food! Had a bit of a wait and the place is overdue for a facelift, but the seafood is fresh and the fried okra and green tomatoes were amazing!
