Ahhhh Man special thanks to the fish Monger, I told him I came from NY and followed his page and loved his content. He was so welcoming, he showed me his smoker and explained how they help keep the local fishing economy Substained. All and all an amazing experience, very educational and a great person. Starting with the establishment, just wow! After searching for quite a while for stone crab we can have at home, this will be our forever go to place. The cleanliness of the market, the curb appeal, pleasant & helpful staff. Amazing, freshest stone crab! We bought 4 pounds of the large size. Ready to eat and they will crack them perfectly for you. Tastiest home made mustard sauce, Seminole Horse Radish was delicious too. The calamari salad was tasty and fresh. We also bought a piece of chilean sea bass and yellow-ledge grouper. Both were fresh and had excellent flavor. Don’t look further this place will not disappoint you.

Went twice today for the first time. First time the man on the phone and lady at the counter were awesome and helpful and very friendly. Second time, less than an hour later a different man answered the phone and he was very unfriendly and rude. When I returned to the store the man that I spoke with over the phone was at the counter to assist me but he was very rude and seemed miserable being there. He also brought up how "some strange guy" (me) had just called them about scallops. Hahaha. The oysters appear fresh and healthy but 2 of the 5 were dead when I got home and I didnt check them before I left the store. I live less than 5 minutes from the store so the oysters were most likely dead when I paid for them. But if you do come here, avoid interacting with the grumpy man with glasses black hair and facial hair. He is very rude and will make your experience quite unpleasant. The food seems to be fresh and healthy but it is not. I asked for 5 oysters and 2 of the 5 they sold me were already dead.
I would rather drive a little bit further to go to a store with kind employees. This one employee here is very off-putting. Many other reviews mentioned unfriendly staff but the other two I interacted with were friendly. Just this one miserable guy seems to be getting this place bad reviews and hurting their buisness. SELLING DEAD OYSTERS IS DANGEROUS.

This guy Austin deClaire is a bit crazy/ vindictive. His reviews are mean and not true. Captain Clay’s is the best fish market around. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, the fish is always fresh, the selection and variety are top notch. We started going there about 2 years ago and everything we’ve tried has been fresh and delicious. I’m a retired chef and I’d like to think I know a little about seafood. Keep doing what you’re doing it’s awesome.

I have been searching for a great fish monger since I moved to Florida a year and a half ago and I finally found it. I mean, I figured since we are on the ocean and all …. Anyway Captain Clay and Son is chock full of fish that was probably swimming the day before. So fresh, such a good selection and knowledgeable people behind the counter. I got to meet Clay himself who loves what he does and does it so well. He is also a chef and gave me great pointers of how to prepare my catch. And make sure you do t leave without getting some of their smoked fish dip. It’ll change your life.

By far the BEST place to get all your seafood!!!
Great selection and everything LOCAL is 100% FRESH! And the specialty fish they bring in is always top notch! Family owned and run. The local fish are like right out of the ocean and right in their
refrigerated cases. And if you dont believe me go in and see for yourself that they are always cutting up fresh fish all day long. Captain Clay, aka, Cappy, might be the only commercial fisherman left in Florida who dives and spear fishes his catches...and if you see their posts on facebook he looks like the happiest man in the world. Who wouldn't want to buy fish from him and his family! His son Reed is my main man and the rest of his family and all the workers are by far the nicest people I have ever met. 8 years I have been going to them and NEVER disappointed. That's why I always say when I leave " Love you guys!"

Excellent fresh fish. Excellent service.
Great value for quality.
My sister started going there when they first opened. The competition doesn't even come close. The place is VERY clean.
The help go out of their way to help the customer. It is impossible to get fish fresher than what they offer. Of course it helps to own your fish trolley.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CAPTAIN S CLAY FISH MARKET on Federal Highway.
You will never be disappointed .
