Went here to buy some fresh fish for dinner. We didn't have many spices since we were traveling so we asked for a recommendation. We not only got a nice recommendation, but also a recipe to make the fish. It was so delicious! Also, the 4 crevettes were superb.

While visiting Edinburgh, I looked up for fish shops downtown because I really craved for langoustines (norway lobster).
I was immediately drawn to "Something Fishy" as the lovely wee shoppe reminded me of the old fishmongers we used to have around in my birthplace near La Rochelle before the bloody supermarkets put them all out of business. So my friend and I popped in on a Tuesday an enquired about these fine ladies of the sea.. alas there wasn't any.
As the benevolent and knowledgeable owner explained us, since it's a pricey delicacy people tend to treat themselves with it only for fine supper over the week-end. That said, the good man went on a limb and offered to order us a kilo of them to pick-up on Thursday morning, without any guarantee that the Frog and Yankee tourists will be back for it.
Needless to say, I was there on Thursday morning at first light!
And what lovely beasts they were.. big, extra fresh and full of caviar.. But pictures are best.

I always pop in here when I'm in town to pick up some haddock, mussels and salmon. It is a smaller selection of fish compared to bigger shops but the quality is definitely better. Highly recommended when your in broughton street or around

High quality fish, very fair prices. On top of that, Daniel is a legend and goes above and beyond for his customers. We were visiting from America and wanted to take some fish home, Daniel helped us organize that on short notice and now we've got plenty of high quality fish for the next month or so. Highly recommend this place!
