Been waiting for a while to try their fresh fish and finally had the opportunity today. Amazing quality shark and shrimp. There’s a lot of fresh fish varieties to choose from and are available at great and reasonable prices! Love the way they cleaned it exactly as I told. Thanks a lot, I’m definitely coming back soon.

I purchased a couple of live lobster from this market and was very happy with the quality. They were ~1.5 pounds each and seemed healthy. Cooked up great on the grill. They also had live tilapia and crab. Lots of other fish and kitchen staples but I can’t speak to their quality. I would definitely recommend this place for live seafood.

Love this place. The prices are decent and they always do a great job cleaning the fish. I've gotten fish at the Shop Rites in Hoboken and Downtown Jersey City. I always have to come home and clean the fish again myself. I never have to do that when I buy fish from 235 Fish Market!

Great market for fresh seafood and supplies to cook it up, the owners will dress up whole fish however you want and you can always ask for racks/heads if you are marking seafood stock. Very happy with all the fish and shellfish I have purchased here.

These guys provide half garbage fish bits and half edible bits. You pay for all of it on the scale. I am avoiding this place from here on out.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I was a loyal consumer, I would often buy crabs or shrimps or even lobsters. I am a cook so texture and smell is very very important. So I can easily tell when something is expired or rotten. I got a box of shrimp that was bad. I didn’t make an issue about it. However this week I bought shrimp again, and again it was spoiled. So we called to tell them and they seemed like they were going to corporate. We drove all the way from Bayonne to Jersey city. And They refused to do anything about it. We didn’t want to make an issue but they made us waste our time going all the way there to tel us that we over cooked the shrimp when that was not the case. I know how the smell and the texture of the shrimp is supposed to be. I am a chief for god sake. Telling a chief that they don’t know how to cook is a huge insult. That is like saying a singer can’t sing or a painter can’t paint. I know how to cook shrimp 🍤
